A New Concept in Massage Therapy Arrives in Baton Rouge.

Welcome to The Massage Emporium, the place where we have Something for Every Body. We take pride in matching your therapy needs to your lifestyle, to your activity level, and to your physical status. Relieving pain and stress one person at a time – that is our motto.

Located at 240 Laurel Street, Suite 101, in the heart of downtown Baton Rouge, The Massage Emporium focuses on providing a full range of therapeutic massage in a non-spa setting. We introduce a new concept to Baton Rouge that is very popular to the West Coast market: We believe massage therapy should be as regular as any personal habit; that is why we offer our clients a wide range of therapeutic massage at extremely economical costs.

The Owners

The Massage Emporium is the entrepreneurial endeavor of three talented, creative minds. As a team, Faith Miller, Laura Short, and Harry Short bring the talent and skill required to establish and maintain a successful business operation, as they utilize a dynamic combination of massage therapy and business management experience. In addition, they share the support of a long-time friendship and a family relationship.

Faith Miller has practiced massage therapy since 1999. Her specialty areas focus on physical therapy and rehabilitation. While residing in Los Angeles, CA, she maintained a private practice and focused on providing her upscale clientele with Deep Tissue massage, Sports massage, Pregnancy massage, and Myofacial Release. Faith has extensive experience working in the movie industry as well. While in California, she worked on various movie sets, providing therapeutic services to cinematographers, producers, directors, and notable actors and actresses. Some well-known clients include Al Pacino, Tyrese Gibson, Gabrielle Reece, and Lou Ferrigno. Faith was also instrumental in the development of several massage therapy tools and products for Giam, Inc., a holistic mail-order catalogue company.

"Over the course of my career, I’ve seen how massage therapy can transform a person’s life by providing both physical and emotional well-being. My personal fulfillment comes in being able to customize therapy to an individual’s personal needs, even in helping them to determine what those needs are."

Laura Short holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University. While in Los Angeles, Laura worked efficiently at managing the day-to-day operations of four tremendously successful massage locations serving thousands of clients. She puts into practice this notable, working experience and explains the philosophy behind the concept that is The Massage Emporium:

“The spa experience is not necessary for many people, and our concept is to provide the highest quality of therapy in a non-intimidating, relaxed setting. Not only will you always speak to a live person during normal business hours but you can generally make a same day appointment as well. As a busy working mother and as a business owner, I can certainly value the importance of flexibility and convenience”.

Harry Short, the third business partner, is a retired chemical engineer with over 35 years experience in sales, sales management, marketing, and business management. Harry has an extensive working background in national and international business, as he was a national sales manager with Union Carbide for the United States and Canada. He also brings to the business his experience as Business Director for two global businesses.

"As a businessman and a native of this area, I think Baton Rouge is ready for the concept that is The Massage Emporium. Our prices are affordable, our therapy is exceptional, and our services are specifically customized to meet customer needs. Our atmosphere is casual, but our therapies excel in sophistication."
